To be an icon is to be eternal, and such was the destiny of Grace Kelly, the American actress who became Princess of Monaco through her marriage to Rainier III in 1956. Mother of Albert, the current sovereign, and of Caroline and Stéphanie, she inevitably shed her artistic trappings once married, but she never lost her charm, her incredible beauty, and, above all, her unique style, which remains inspiring today.

Contemporary Fragrances Inspired by Royalty

Grace Kelly wasn't the only one, but the French court was certainly one of the most fond of perfumes, spreading their use and turning them into a true display of vanity. The 18th-century nobility would be swept away, but not the country's perfume culture. English royalty also developed its own olfactory tradition as early as the 1600s, creating a bond that remains strong and productive to this day.

Grace of Monaco's fragrance is therefore not a novelty on the perfume scene, but a sincere tribute, the fruit of a passion for beauty that the actress was able to transmit, including to her own family. Indeed, a perfume was also dedicated to her daughter Stéphanie: in 2021, French perfumer Laurent Mazzone created Princesse de Cœur, inspired by her rebellious spirit and cultural impact in the 1990s. All profits from the sale were donated to the Fight AIDS Monaco association, which she founded in 2004 and of which she is president.
